Estas carreras europeas son la ocasión para mostrar a viejas leyendas de la historia del automovilismo en circuitos de élite.

RALLY MONTE-CARLO HISTORIQUE

Tiene lugar cada 25 de enero con partida desde Varsovia, Glasgow, Reims, Barcelona y Copenhagen, para iniciar el rally en Montecarlo. La carrera discurre en tramos míticos como Col de Corobin o el nocturno de Turini. Participan carros como el Alpine-Renault A110, Morris Mini Cooper, Porsche 911 Carrera...y un largo plantel de ganadores.

RALLY SITGES

Comienza el 2 de marzo en Barcelona, España y compiten autos maravillosos fabricados desde 1908 y hasta el 1928. Estas joyas transitan por las empinadas cuestas del Garraf. Es un evento excepcional por la antigüedad de muchos de los coches participantes. Los participantes visten de época siendo los más vistosos obsequiados con un trofeo.

ESPÍRITU DE MONTJUÏC

Cada 12 de abril parten del Circuit de Catalunya, Montmeló, España clásicos para cualquier modelo anterior a 1980. Ideal para ver en acción a los magníficos ejemplares de los años 50,60 y 70. Es un concurso de gran elegancia donde participan numerosos clubs.

DONNINGTON HISTORIC FESTIVAL

Inicia el 3 de mayo en Donnington Park, Derby, Gran Bretaña. Es un festival relativamente nuevo pero de gran proyección. Exponen coches de carreras desde los años 20 hasta los años 80: monoplazas, turismos, los legendarios Grupo C, etc.

GRAND PRIX PAU HISTORIQUE

Tiene lugar el 11 de mayo en la región de Pau, Francia. A diferencia de otros eventos es un circuito callejero que despierta mayor carisma y proximidad para el público. Recorre los mismos circuitos que se desarrollan en esta zona desde 1901.Han participado monoplazas como el Maserati 250F, Lotus, Brabaham, Cooper, Formula Fords, y un largo etcétera.

MILLE MIGLIA

Cada 16 de mayo se inicia en Brescia hasta Roma, pasando por Verona, Ferrara, San Marino y al regreso a Brescia se viaja por Siena, Firenze, Bologna y Modena. Ideal para sacar a las pistas infinidad de modelos de Alfa Romeo, Cisitalia, Ferrari, Lancia, Maserati, Zagato...etc.

The Pontiac GTO is a sporting automobile made by the American company Pontiac between the years 1964 and 1974 and also made by the Australian company Holden between 2004 and 2006. It is often considered to be the first true muscle car.
The thing is that the Pontiac GTO was the one to turn muscle cars into fashion and it is the first in the history of automobiles.
And to close up, a deluxe antique, the Chevrolet model "Mako Shark II". This car was designed by Larry Shinoda in 1968. Since then, it marked the introduction of the nowadays very famous line of toy cars Hot Wheels of Mattel.

8. Plymouth Barracuda ’70: Tiene nombre y estilo. Es agresivo e irradia masculinidad. Está claramente influenciado por la primera generación de los Camaro.

Bugatti Type 41 Royale

 Many classic cars shine and become famous due to their history, their speed, the genius of their shapes...... but these five have it all, and on top of it, they are beautiful. Can you ask for more?
There is not a number one or a last one for they all are special. But we have to begin by, and so we have, this Mercedes Benz 38 250 produced in Germany at the beginning of the past century between 1928 and 1932. Only some 40 units of this collection piece ran, designed by Ferdinand Porsche when he still worked for Mercedes. Authentic and old like very few.

Hispano Suiza K6 Brandone Cabriolet

The luxurious French Bugatti Type 41 Royale, made between 1929 and 1933, by three outstanding designers: Kellner, Weinberger y Ward; amongst all, this has been the most powerful of its epoch. Exclusive as a minority, only 6 units of this dashing car were produced. Today, it is one of the most unique and wanted cars in the world.
And we have yet another European creation on this illustrious list. In this case, the Hispano Suiza K6 Brandone Cabriolet, produced in Spain and France in the decade of the 30's during the past century. Exclusively designed by Etienne Brandone, some 200 units of this car, which was awarded many diverse prizes and won contests of elegance all over the world, ran.
One of the great ones is repeated, the French Bugatti Type-57 SC Atlantic, made between 1936 and 1938. Designed by Jean Bugatti himself, only three units of this car were reproduced, it's considered one of the most beautiful classics in the history of motoring.

Mercedes-Benz, now the 540K Special Roadster

Super expensive and even more exclusive than it is expensive, two of them have made it to our days, one of them belongs to the prestigious fashion designer Ralf Lauren.
And to finish, we have Mercedes-Benz once more, this time with the 540K Special Roadster. This was the climax of high speed tourism cars, developed by Mercedes in the 30's. This was the fastest car of its time and one of the most luxurious and elegant of all times. This model has been one of the most expensive Mercedes sold so far.

Extraordinary classics of the history of the cinema

These starries of the big screen do not receive awards or pose for fashion and society magazines. However, other than actors and directors, many times they are the stars of the film. These classic cars have a personality of their own and a protagonist roll in films that have made history.

Ford Deuce Coupe (1932)

The first one of this top five is the 1932 Ford Deuce Coupe, immortalized in the movie American Graffiti from 1973. This classic deserves all respect, after becoming a collection piece for the lovers of old cars, thanks to director George Lucas. Actually, the band The Beach Boys dedicated a song to it as well as its fourth album, both entitled Little Deuce Coupe.

Another great Ford is the Thunderbird Convertible (1966), possibly the most famous of all after being the protagonist in the super film Thelma and Louise, 1991. This convertible is the star of Ridley Scott's popular road movie, accompanying Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis along their unforgettable adventure.

The third one of this list is the wonderful  Ford Falcon XB (1973), launched in the film Mad Max, 1979. This is no less than the fabulous car driven by Mel Gibson in George Miller's film, a work to worship by the lovers of the futurist western. This great car is a collection piece nowadays.

Of course, in this list we had to mention at least one of the James Bond's classics. The peculiar British secret agent most famous in the history of the cinema, has driven dozens of espectacular cars, but we have chosen the most noticed of all. We are, of course, talking about the magnificent  Lotus Esprit S1 (1976), used in the saga during the film The Spy Who Loved Me, from 1977.

And closing the list the Austin Mini Cooper S (1961). The Mini is much more than a movies car: it is history on four wheels, an authentic icon of its epoch. And so it proved itself to be in the film by
Peter Collinson, The Italian Job, from 1969. This great engine in its sporting version dominated four competitions of the Montecarlo rally between 1964 and 1967.

As you can see, nothing escapes the capacity of these cars to look fantastic on the big screen.

Para aprender a estacionarse, nada como un Crazy Coupé. Aunque no parezca cierto, el carro más vendido en el mundo es precisamente el Tykes Crazy Coupé. Hasta hoy pocos como el jeep Cherokee, se han mantenido siendo un modelo tan popular.
